Tray Sealer
MDC Engineering, Inc. found a need for a unique tray sealer for companies that require a top web that does not overhang the blister. The design criteria was a machine no more than 10 feet long, 10-12 cycles per minute, register the top web and to be able to cut the blister and the tob web at the same time, making the package line on line.
By utilizing a 2 blisters per tray design, the product is loaded in the blisters, a vision system verifies the presence of the product, as it indexes it checks for high product, moves into a seal station where the top web is introduced and registered to the blister, then sealed. The next index is into a precision ODC male-female die punch exiting out the bottom on a conveyor. The scrap trim is then rewound completing the operation.
